Business is booming for Nestlé, thanks to the Chinese and North American markets

Due to a higher demand in the Chinese and North American markets, Nestlé picked up speed in 2018.

The company’s organic growth adjusted for special effects is currently at 2.8 percent, an increase of 0.2 percent compared to the beginning of the year. Its turnover increased by 2 percent to USD 66,4 billion.

The market with the highest increase was the Asian market, which saw a large demand for baby food and coffee, but there are some personnel changes for that region: Division head Wang Lin Martello leaves the company until the end of the year and board member Chris Johnson will take over her position. Wang Lin Martello was a candidate for the directorial position of Nestlé, but this post has instead been given to the former CEO of Fresenius, Mr. Ulf Schneider.

Mr. Schneider has great plans for the food giant: He aims at having a constant organic growth of 3 percent next year and until 2020, Nestlé shall achieve its former growth rates of 5 percent again. But this will may prove challenging, as the food market is changing and customers are losing interest in big brands, instead they are more looking for local and fresh products.
