In 2017, Chinese investors invested 13.7 billion USD in German companies and the number of acquisitions amounted to 54. More money has been invested than in the year before (2016: 12.6 billion USD), even though, the total investment from Chinese companies into European companies decreased.
Chinese investor seem to love German companies and the main consideration point for buying German companies is not profit, it is quality. Chinese companies are often looking for middle-sized German companies that are the best in what they are doing. In addition, they like German companies due to their high technological standards, the possible access to the European internal market and because of the already existing distribution infrastructure in Germany.
